Tasks and Actions
Beyond the tasks and actions we know we will face every day or week, we are also confronted with regular specific actions. One way to stay on top of these regular actions is to create a checklist for completing them. This is done in many workplaces for regular periods (weekly, monthly) to make sure that certain tasks (backing up servers, storing information off premises to protect against fire and theft) are completed. We may also have such tasks in our homes and while a check-list is not a fool-proof solution, it is a good way to ensure that these types of actions are reliably completed on a regular basis.
Time tables and checklists keep track of the routine and regular tasks and actions we must complete. A calendar or appointment book helps us stay on top of non-routine appointments (going to the dentist, meeting a deadline for a certain report). Whether we use a pen and paper appointment book or calendar software, keeping track of our commitments is important to make sure we don’t forget a certain appointment or over-commit on any given day.
