Social Networking as a Career Safety Net
I just came across an article in the New York Times that I found interesting and well written.
It is about how social networking sites like Linkedin, Facebook or MySpace can or cannot be useful in a job search. What I liked was how the article makes it clear, that for job searches it is better to keep the networking well separated from the social. While that is not an earth-shattering finding in itself, keeping it in mind from the beginning, when starting to use such a network, can make all the difference later.
Well worth reading in my humble opinion.
